How To Embed YouTube Videos in iWeb 09
Both YouTube and iWeb are powerful tools for sharing video files on the internet. The two can work together: you can easily embed (or insert) videos from YouTube into your iWeb pages. These steps will allow you to share vidoes that you have created and uploaded to YouTube on your iWeb site.
OPEN THE VIDEO IN YOUTUBE

First, use your web browser to open http://www.youtube.com. Then, open the video that you want to embed in your iWeb page.
OPEN IWEB

Open iWeb, then click on the page that you want the video to appear on in the menu on the left side of the screen. This will open the page in the iWeb window.
OPEN THE WIDGETS MENU

Click the Widgets button in the upper right corner of the iWeb screen to open the Widgets Menu.
ADD THE YOUTUBE WIDGET TO YOUR PAGE

Click on the YouTube Widget, then drag it onto the page in the iWeb window. The YouTube Menu will open on your page.
CHOOSE YOUR PREFERENCES FOR THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE

Return to your web browser and click on the Embed code on the YouTube video page. This will open the Embed Menu. From here, you can set your preferences for how the video will look on your iWeb page, including the color and size of the video box. Click on each setting to highlight it; this will activate that particular setting.
COPY THE EMBED CODE FROM YOUTUBE

Highlight the Embed Code by clicking on it. The text will be highlighted in blue. Then choose Edit>Copy from your brower’s menu.
PASTE THE EMBED CODE INTO iWEB

Return to iWeb. Click on the YouTube URL Field in the YouTube Menu. This will place the cursor in the YouTube URL Field. Then, choose Edit>Paste from the iWeb menu. The Embed Code will appear in the YouTube URL Field.
APPLY THE CHANGES

Click Apply, and the video will appear on your iWeb page above the YouTube Menu.
CLOSE THE YOUTUBE MENU

Click on the X in the upper left corner of the YouTube Menu to close it.
PUBLISH YOUR UPDATED iWEB PAGE

To publish your updated iWeb page to the web, choose File>Publish Site Changes from the iWeb menu.

Thanks for your question.
iWeb pulls the source file for the video directly from YouTube’s site, so the video source should appear in high-definition as long as the video is in HD on YouTube.
Happy creating,
Nicole
